But like much of the new money pouring into tech solutions for civil infrastructure, it discovered a different reality in the Bay Area trenches, with some important lessons for stakeholders across the country who are pushing large, transformative projects. NYC is dead. Long live NYC! Are cities like San Francisco and New York facing an "urban doom loop" of declining tax revenue, cuts in services, population loss, and around we go? A return to normal(ish) in 2023 will go a long way towards deciding the fate of America's big coastal cities. (Gothamist)
